Fragments are one of the many materials you'll need to craft and upgrade weapons in Infinite Wealth. These are primordial early on in the game as you start getting acquainted with the weapon crafting system before moving on to more rare resources like Geodes.
So if you're starting your journey across Honolulu, Hawaii, here's how to get your hands on Fragments, and how to use them. While you're here, check out our full Ichiban Kasuga personality guide.
How to farm Fragments in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
There are five types of Fragments in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Four are used to craft weapons while the fifth is used exclusively to enhance them:
- Electric Fragments (crafting)
- Lava Fragments (crafting)
- Ice Fragments (crafting)
- Rainbow Fragments (crafting)
- Iron Fragments (enhancing)
You can carry up to 500 of the first four, while the cap for Iron Fragments is set to 999, being the most common type of Fragment. There are several ways to get your hands on these.
Defeat enemies
Simple and to the point, see a wave of enemies approaching? Knock them out and collect your rewards, which are usually Fragments of all kinds, with Rainbow ones being slightly harder to get, but they do drop from regular enemies.
If you have them at hand, we recommend you equip items such as the Happy Lei or the Fairy Lei, which boost the item drops from enemies significantly.
Material exchange at Julie's Gearworks
While not recommended due to not being optimal, you can get rid of weapons in exchange for some Fragments, predominantly Iron ones.
You'd be giving up an entire weapon for a single Iron Fragment, so unless you really don't mind the swap, then skip this method, just know it's available.
Scour the streets
While exploring Hawaii, you'll run into items in the wild, pick them up and a few can be Fragments. Search the back alleys, the beach, trash cans, anywhere and everywhere, Fragments might be waiting for you.
Complete Sujimon raids
The Pokemon-inspired minigame in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is surprisingly much deeper than fans initially expected, even incorporating stuff from Pokemon GO, Niantic's mobile spin-off that took the world by storm in 2016.
Once you unlock them, look out for raids across the map, a small screen with potential rewards will show up before you start the battle. More often than not, you'll get some Fragments from battling.
Crazy Delivery minigame
A good way to farm for Iron Fragments is to partake in the Crazy Delivery minigame. You can get up to 999 pieces here so be sure to try it out.
