It's that time of year. Madden 23 is finally here and players are jumping into EA Sports' latest instalment in the long-running NFL series. The arrival of FieldSense technology adds a new layer of immersion to the game while the simplification of other features makes the game thoroughly entertaining for newcomers and Madden masters.

Compared to the previous Madden titles, there are plenty of ways to add a little flare to the touchdowns you manage to score over the course of a match.

Before we share how to celebrate in Madden 23, check out everything there is to know about the top-rated players, Franchise Mode, and whether the game is on its way to Game Pass.

How do I celebrate in Madden 23?

There are various times when you can celebrate during a Madden 23 match. In addition to touchdowns, you can perform a variety of gestures following a sack, interception or first down.

For a short time after the play has come to an end, a prompt allowing you to celebrate will appear on the screen. Here's what you need to do:

  • Dance - Flick the right stick to the right.
  • Spike - Flick the right stick down.
  • Signature - Flick the right stick to the left.
  • Swagger - Flick the right stick upwards.

If you attempt any of the above moves after the prompt has appeared, no celebration will appear.

How to showboat in Madden 23

Alongside the four celebrations, you can showboat when entering the endzone. Showboating adds a little extra to scoring a touchdown but if you mistime the celebration, there's a chance you will fumble the ball and miss the opportunity to score the points.

To showboat in Madden 23, simply press L2 or LT as the player nears the endzone. Be aware that the button also functions as the 360 Cut Control so make sure you're running in a straight line to perform a successful showboat.
