If you’re tired of the high stakes of ranked matches, custom games in Marvel Rivals are the perfect way to take it easy.

Custom games allow you to set up your own match, making them perfect for warming up, exploring strategies, or enjoying fun moments with friends.

This article will show you how to set up your custom game and have fun with friends or bots.

How To Create Custom Games

Start by opening Marvel Rivals and heading straight to the main screen.

Open the game modes menu by clicking the Play button in the top left corner of the screen.

You’ll find a Change Mode option above the start button from there.

This will open a menu with available game modes, including Custom Game, which you should choose.

After you hop into the Custom Game section, you'll spot the option to create a game. You can easily start your private lobby.

After you click Create, you’ll be taken to a new screen where you can invite friends, add bots, or configure other game settings to your liking.

Now that your lobby is created, you can fill the player slots. To invite your friends, click the plus symbol next to any space.

You can pick players from your friend list and add them to the game.

You can easily add bots to either team if you’re short on players or just want to play against AI opponents.

You can adjust the difficulty of the bots, selecting from Easy, Normal, or Hard levels, depending on how challenging you want the game to be.

One neat feature is the ability to assign specific heroes to bots.

You can practice against certain heroes, test out strategies, and see how they work with the rest of your team.

Another option is to press the Random Shuffle button to redistribute players between teams randomly.

Once you have added your players (and bots), you can customize the game settings to fine-tune the match.

Marvel Rivals has different options, so you can play the game exactly how you like.

You should begin by picking the Server Region with the lowest ping for all players to ensure the smoothest gameplay possible.

After that, you can customize the Privacy Settings under Join Access to decide who can join the game.

You can open the lobby to everyone, limit it to friends, or choose Invite Only if you want more privacy.

If you'd like to secure your lobby fully, you can enable the Lock Room option and create a password for entry.

You can easily change the Spectator Settings to allow everyone in, restrict spectating to friends, or disable it altogether.

To make things more strategic, especially in competitive maps, you can add a Ban/Pick Phase, where players can ban or pick heroes before the game starts.

Finally, don't forget to choose your Map and Game Mode.

You can pick a map you like or rotate through a few, and then you can decide on a game mode, such as Quick Match or Competitive, to set the pace.

With all settings in place, the last step is to start the game.

When all players are in the lobby, and you're satisfied with the setup, click Start to begin the match.

The game will launch with your settings, so you can enjoy a laid-back session with friends or bots.
