Marvel Snap is bound to return. The only question is: When will the card game return to the US?

If you've been living under a rock, here's the gist of it: Marvel Snap, developed by Second Dinner, was published by Nuverse, a subsidiary of ByteDance, which acts as a videogame publisher.

ByteDance also owns TikTok, a social media platform banned nationwide in the United States on January 19 after the company failed to sell. It fears TikTok was collecting user data that could become widely available for the Chinese government to access.

As a result, anything related to ByteDance was banned in the US, including Marvel Snap.

TikTok swiftly returned with President Donald Trump granting a 90-day extension to ByteDance to secure a potential buyer.

The president forgot to address Second Dinner's card game. It may not be a matter of "national security" like the TikTok ban, but thousands of players are still wondering when they can start their grind to Infinite again.

Is Marvel Snap Coming Back?

Yes, Marvel Snap will be available once issues regarding the ban are resolved. When? According to the developers, they expect the issue to be resolved sometime during January 20.

It's rather bizarre that the TikTok ban repercussions ended up affecting ByteDance's game subsidiary more.

The Second Dinner social media manager hinted on his personal Twitter account that this ban took the team by surprise, which could be why Marvel Snap is taking longer to return than TikTok did.

Will Marvel Snap Players Be Compensated for the Downtime?

Yes. Second Dinner confirmed there will be some sort of compensation to account for the game's downtime during the ban.

Marvel Snap being a live-service game, it's understandable players are upset by not being able to grind the current battle pass or more currencies the game offers. What kind of compensation will they get? That remains to be seen.
