Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a stand-alone adventure and will be a PS5 exclusive title and will arrive alongside the console.
The PlayStation 5 is due to release sometime in Fall 2020, perhaps one game that could sway consumers in the PS5 vs Xbox Series X debate is the sequel to the very successful Spider-Man game that released on the PS4 in 2018 which sold over 9 million units worldwide.
With rumours circulating on Reddit since the announcement of the game, we still know little about the game nevertheless.
Some big changes are in store for the web-slinger as it's set to utilise all of the power coming with the PS5.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 Has An Optional 4K / 60FPS Performance Mode - July 20th
A recent announcement has revealed the latest Spider-Man title will have an optional 4k / 60FPS mode on PS5.
This is exciting as a lot of fans expected the title to be limited to 30FPS on the PS5.
Sony's PS5 games showcase suggested 30FPS was a performance target for the majority of PS5 games.
The addition of a 4K / 60FPS mode grants the player a choice in the performance of the game.
This is hopefully a feature that will be present in a number of future PS5 titles.

Spider-Man Set In The Winter?
New rumours have surfaced on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit claiming that the game is set in the winter, a few short months after the events of the original and the play area is set to include both Queens and Brooklyn.
The game was rumoured to be based largely on Peter Parker being the lead, the Reddit user leaking this new information suggested that Miles Morales will play a larger role in the story - we now know he is the main character.
It's been reported that Insomniac are interested in allowing the player to switch between the two, but it's unlikely if this mechanic will feature in the final product.
Thanks to the incredible power of the PS5, the game's world will be even bigger - Spider-Man will be able to enter some of the buildings, which the leaker says introduces new traversal mechanics for these environments.
The mechanics are also supposedly getting a big overhaul. The leaker talks about a "web-chain" ability that lets you pre-map different zipping points, allowing you to zip between them.
Not to mention new animation upgrades to add variety from the original.

The PS5 box art for the latest Spiderman title has been revealed.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Release Date
The new Spider-Man game is set to release Holiday 2020 - we're assuming with the PS5.
New Mechanics
The first game's web-slinging and combat were pretty much perfect, so we'd be very surprised to see much change, especially so soon after it launched.
That said, we would expect new suit powers for Miles, and presumably some new combat moves and animations, too.
Missions
The game will feature a whole new set of missions, including villains not seen in the original game.
Here's hoping we get to see the likes of Mysterio make an appearance, Morbius, or even Kraven.

- Peter Parker/Spider-Man
- Miles Morales
- Harry Osborne
- Norman Osborne
- Mary Jane Watson
- Eddie Brock
- J. Jonah Jameson

Is It Too Soon For Spider-Man 2?
If the game launched in the 2021 holidays, it would mean the game would release 3 years after its predecessor; a very quick turn around considering the original game took six years to develop.
Could Insomniac Games have moved their team over to the next instalment, leaving only a few behind to continue work on the original?
It sounds too good to be true, but we are also expecting to see the Breath of the Wild sequel in a similar time frame from the release of the original; potentially meaning the game does not necessarily re-invent the wheel, but simply expands on the universe the original created.
