Spider-Man: Remastered Now Available As Standalone PS5 Title

Spider-Man: Miles Morales may be the new hotness, but if you missed out on 2018's excellent Marvel's Spider-Man, you may have been disappointed to find out that the remaster was locked behind the Ultimate Edition of the latest title.

Good news then, wannabe wallcrawlers – Peter Parker's adventure is now available as a standalone purchase on PlayStation 5.

As spotted by Twisted Voxel, the standalone title is now a separate $40 purchase.

Bizarrely, anyone that owns the PS4 version and the season pass will be unable to add the game to their library, and will instead be prompted to download the PS4 version instead.

Perhaps given Sony's issues with their console downloading the wrong versions of games it's to be expected, but we'll update this as we hear more.

The game sets up the events of Miles Morales, so if you haven't played it yet, start with the remaster.

"The relevance of this game can’t be overstated -- not just in comparison to our own cultural issues in the real world, but with the way it draws parallels to corrupt people in power," it reads.

"Miles Morales is much more than a game about being Spider-Man. It should be remembered as a game that inspires hope during trying times."
