The moment Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater showed off Snake vs Money, fans knew it would be exclusive to PS5. While it is also coming to PC, no one was surprised to see the mode miss out on Xbox Series systems. However, we underestimated Konami, as the company went the extra mile and replaced Ape Escape with…Bomberman?

X user Wario64 pointed out how the Xbox Series trailer of Snake Eater doesn’t end with Snake vs Monkey but teases “Snake vs ???” with a Bomberman silhouette in the background. It’s a big surprise that no one expected, so seeing the Konami icon added to the Xbox version is good. Now that the Steam version has Snake vs Monkey, the Xbox port is more unique.

While these are just extra modes added to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, this is still an extra bit of effort that no one expected to see. For one thing, Konami has had a pretty bad reputation, choosing pachinko machines over video games and making Hideo Kojima’s life a living hell. Still, it seems that the company is on a redemption arc, working on the stellar Silent Hill 2 remake and now this.

In the end, PS5 and Xbox Series owners should be able to pick this remake up without feeling shafted. The Ape Escape monkeys are a bit more special since they aren’t used as much by Sony, but at least the Xbox Series ports aren’t deprived of a whole mode. Granted, the PC version could have Bomberman and Ape Escape thanks to modders, but let’s cross that bridge when it happens.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3. The promotional material hasn’t been shy of showing fans how this game’s graphics compare to its predecessor. Luckily, fans will be able to see how this version fares when it comes out on August 28, 2025.
