A remastered version of Modern Warfare 2 has allegedly been in the pipeline for years now, and back in March 2018, thanks to CharlieINTEL, it was all but confirmed. New rumours suggest that it's coming, and it's coming sooner than expected... with multiplayer!
Sledgehammer Games was dropped from the development of the next release of Call of Duty, which has had the rumour mill well and truly grinding.
Kotaku reported that it was a bit of a one-horse race, as Treyarch had been signed up to spearhead the project.
Now, new rumours are suggesting that this may not be the only change.
Twitter user Okami13_ (known for being an accurate source of leaked information) Tweeted, claiming they knew that a Modern Warfare 2 remaster was in the works, AND it was being prepped for a 2020 release.
Interestingly, Okami13_ had recently Tweeted about Call of Duty: Warzone, MWs upcoming battle royale mode, claiming a March 10th release.
Which means we'll only have to wait three short days before we know whether or not the Twitter user will be right again, showing they know the information, and it's not just speculation.
Stay tuned and bookmark the page, it's about to get interesting!
