Call of Duty titles often feature numerous mechanics to master to gain the upper hand over the opposition. For 2023, there are plenty of Modern Warfare 3 movement changes on their way in a bid to increase the pace of play throughout a Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer match.

Ranging from Tac Stance to a host of adjustments to mechanics from previous releases, there's a strong possibility movement mechanics will be just as important as mastering the extensive gun list and new Perk system.

Before we share more about all of the Modern Warfare 3 movement changes, take a look at our other guides revealing how to get the Soap Operator Pack and a closer look at what the single-player campaign has in store.

All Modern Warfare 3 movement changes

  • You can cancel partial Reloads during an animation (i.e., “reload cancel”) to immediately return fire.
  • Mantling is faster, and you can Mantle while Sprinting.
  • You can fire during and immediately after Sliding.
  • Tactical Sprint durations are increased (the exact duration depends on the weapon being used).

Does Modern Warfare 3 have slide cancelling?

Yes, Modern Warfare 3 will feature slide cancelling much to the delight of players wanting a faster way to navigate around the map.

Slide cancelling was first featured in 2019's Modern Warfare and quickly became a staple mechanic. Infinity Ward opted to remove it in Modern Warfare 2 but Sledgehammer Games has decided it should return.

All of the Modern Warfare 3 movement changes are designed to improve the "general responsiveness" of your in-game Operator. Let's hope the increase in pace creates plenty of high-octane action in the beta when players load into the game for the very first time.
