On the hunt for intel on Modern Warfare 3 strafing? We've got you covered.
For a casual Call of Duty player, these terms might be mysterious. However, for players who want to level up their gaming and compete with high-ranking players, knowing such movement techniques is a must.
One of these techniques also includes Strafing, a term widely used in FPS games, but is misunderstood. In this article, players will unlock the mysteries of Strafing, and how to use it.
What is strafing?
The previous era of Call Of Duty featured a gameplay where a player’s movement was rather slow, and everyone would have to check their corners before treading forward. However, the newer era features fast movements, slide cancelling, jumping, and sliding. In times like these, Strafing is a vital technique that can increase a player’s chances to efficiently win a gunfight.
In simple words, Strafing in FPS games refers to the act of moving one’s character sideways while shooting at enemies. This technique can be applied in both situations: while aiming-down-sight or while hip firing.
Though the concept rather seems basic at first glance, the going gets tough during heated gunfights where players have to make split-second decisions.
Nonetheless, Strafing is a technique that is surely worth mastering. Furthermore, it also makes the enemy players miss a few shots while firing, resulting in the gamer taking advantage of them.
Modern Warfare 3 Strafing camo challenges
Apart from enhancing your gameplay, Strafing also comes in handy when you want to unlock camo for their weapons. Previously, Call Of Duty released a strafing challenge for one gun only—DG-58 LSW. Currently, there are two new weapons in the line-up.
Here’s a list of weapons that require players to know about strafing if they want to unlock a weapon camo:
- DG-56 (Assault Rifle)—Forged Camo.
- DG-58 LSW (Light Machine Gun)—Priceless Camo
- Holger 26 (Light Machine Gun—Priceless Camo
Both the Light Machine Guns here require players to get 25 hip-fire kills while applying the Strafing technique. For the Assault Rifle, however, the challenge is to get 10 kills from Strafing during ADS.
While the kills required for each of these challenges are less, these guns are generally effective in long-range encounters. To get hip-fire kills—that too, by Strafing, isn’t child’s play. Hence, players must ensure that they’re equipped with the right attachments to ensure maximum efficiency.
- For the DG-56 Assault Rifle: use attachments that promote more ADS speed, and decrease the time to aim-down-sight.
- For the rest of the two guns: use attachments that increase hip-fire accuracy and decrease sprint-to-fire time.
Best Modern Warfare 3 Strafing perks
While players must focus on the right attachments, they must pay heed to their perks because they have a profound impact on the gameplay as well. In terms of getting more Strafing kills players must ensure that they’ve equipped themselves with Stalker Boots since they’re specifically tailored for players who strafe.
