Modern Warfare: Everything We Don't Know About The Battle Royale

The rumours surrounding the potential release of a battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has not slowed down.

With season 2 released, several players are praying for the release of Battle Royale content.

We already know about the rumoured battle royale map, settings, loot, perks, killstreaks, whether it will feature cross-play and much more but there are still plenty of areas that we have no information on at all.

In this article, we take a look at some of the rumours that have yet to be uncovered.

How Will The Attachments Work?

Like battle royale titles, such as PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds (PUBG), each individual weapon attachment can be found across the map.

The addition of the Gunsmith to multiplayer enabled players to have near-limitless customisation of their weapon of choice.

Based off other titles, it is likely that all the attachments from multiplayer will feature in the Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode; with some being more common than others and the likes of the sniper scopes being harder to come across.

Maybe Raven Software will do something different and implement some form of create-a-class system that is similar to Gunfight Custom - a variation on the popular mode, where players have the ability to create a custom loadout rather than use randomly generated classes and the Battle Royale mode on COD Mobile.

Will things get overly complicated with so many attachments being available? We'll have to wait and see.

Will There Be Seasonal Events?

Like Blackout and other Battle Royale games, the idea of seasonal events is nothing new.

With Modern Warfare having an increased focus on realism and more graphic content, will there be any form of seasonal events that provide new cosmetics and maybe detract from the gritty nature of Modern Warfare?

It's also worth pointing out that we've already lost a quarter of the game's cycle before the Battle Royale has even launched.

Knowing that Activision Blizzard is in charge, there will likely be seasonal events. There are also plenty of possibilities to create plenty of new skins, camos and more for the Battle Royale mode and if done correctly, it could be great for all players.

Will Operators Be Used as Characters?

It's likely that all 18 Operators in Modern Warfare will feature as playable characters in the Battle Royale. Especially as Ghost was featured in Season 2.

To adhere to the post-launch content model of Modern Warfare, new Operators that arrive as part of seasonal content will feature across all three modes.

However, It is unlikely that the Battle Royale will feature any new operators that are exclusive to the mode.

What players can expect is the return of some iconic heroes and villains from the Modern Warfare franchise to appear as either unlockable characters in the game or as DLC.
