A brand new promotion is heading to FIFA 22's Ultimate Team.
The 'New Generation' features six of Europe's hottest young talents, including Kylian Mbappe, Theo Hernandez & Phil Foden.
Here is everything you need to know about the New Generation, including how to pick up one of the six stars for free.
What is New Generation
As we've already alluded too, the New Generation is a group of six of Europe's finest young talents, all of which feature in FIFA 22's Ultimate Team.
The full mini squad release is as follows:
Player | Team | Rating |
---|---|---|
Kylian Mbappe | PSG | 86 |
Theo Hernandez | AC Milan | 85 |
Phil Foden | Manchester City | 85 |
Christian Pulisic | Chelsea | 83 |
Jude Bellingham | Bourssia Dortmund | 81 |
Eduardo Camavinga | Real Madrid | 81 |
As you will see in the above table, all the players have seen their ratings downgraded slightly to reflect their ability when they broke onto the scene as a teenager.
There is also a notable position change for Kylian Mbappe, who has been switched from a ST to a LW, which is reflective of the position he played in the early stages of his career with Monaco.
How to Unlock New Generation Cards
In a similar fashion to the David Beckham card that we saw in FIFA 21, you can get your hands on one of the six featured players simply by playing the game.
We have the Ligue 1 official Twitter account to thank for the intel, after they leaked the upcoming release over on the social media site.
The tweet, which was accompanied by a short video featuring the six stars of the New Generation, stated the following:
"Champion of #Ligue1UberEats from his first season at Parc des Princes, @KMbappe is the New Generation ! Play #FIFA22 before January 14 for a chance to get his new item on #FUT"
Should EA follow the same format as the David Beckham release, then you will see a player from the promotion land in your club on Friday, January 14th.
We imagine that it will come in the form of a pack, but that is yet to be confirmed.
The pack will likely be weighted towards a Bellingham or a Camavinga, but considering it won't cost you a penny, we can't complain too much.
New Generation SBCs & Objectives
It seems unlikely that we will see any other New Generation content land, but there is always the potential of one or two extra cards.
Should EA opt for this batch of players to be part of a full promotional release, then we could well see one or two more cards become available via the SBC and Objectives market.
Who they could be remains to be seen, but as always we will have more news on this story once EA themselves release the details.
