Spider-Man: No Way Home throws Tom Holland's Peter Parker into very difficult situations, pushing the character beyond his limits. And it seems like the actor is glad his version goes through some maturity.
While promoting the film in Japan (via Sony Pictures Japan's Twitter account), Holland is glad the Friendly Neighbourhood Hero grows up in the movie.

Tom Holland Says No Way Home Removes The "Spider-Boy" Persona
The 25-year old British actor is glad at the development his Webhead goes through, maturing from a kid to a grown-up:
It really has been the Spider-Boy, and this film is about him becoming Spider-Man. It's about him growing up, making his own decisions, and stepping up to the plate as a full-blown Avenger.
The ending of Spidey's third solo film sees Peter make difficult sacrifices, from coming to terms with Aunt May's death to letting Ned and MJ go.
The superhero movie that's about the kid… that is the small-town, really your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This film is about him stepping into bigger shoes and becoming an adult and becoming Spider-Man.
Holland adds that with Peter's development into an adult, this particular trilogy of the beloved superhero has come to a close:
[No Way Home] is definitely the final chapter in the Homecoming series. Jon Watts has done such a wonderful job of creating this genre of superhero movies that kinda hasn't been told before.
With a new Spider-Man trio of films on the way and now detached from Stark support, we'll see what stories are in store for the New York mascot.
