Palworld has brought back a lot of fan-favourite mechanics from other monster collection games. One of these is the ability to breed Pals and give birth to unique new ones. Today, we'll go over the process of how to breed Palworld Pals and cover all the breeding mechanics.
Breeding in Palworld allows for the birth of high-quality Pals who inherit the best stats and traits from their parents. Some breeding combinations result in special Pal variations being born. To get to those you first need to understand the basics of how to breed Pals in Palworld and then experiment with it.
While you're here, also learn how to capture Pals and increase your capture chances to catch rarer Pals for breeding.
How to breed Palworld Pals
To breed Pals you need to place two Pals from the opposite gender together in the Breeding Farm and also provide them with Cake. Once you do this, you'll eventually come back to find a Pal Egg in the enclosure.
You then have to hatch this egg to see the result of the Pal breeding. You can try out various combinations to discover new breeds and variants of Pals.
Palworld Breeding Farm explained
You unlock the Breeding Farm at level 19.
It requires a large amount of basic materials to build.
- Wood x100
- Stone x20
- Fiber x50
Once you have your Breeding Farm ready to operate, you need to obtain cake and then assign two Pals from the opposite gender to the building.
How to get Cake in Palworld
You can only make Cake if you have unlocked the Cooking Pot at level 17. Making a Cake has a list of ingredients you first need to find and a whopping workload of 2000.
These include:
- Flour x5
- Red Berries x8
- Milk x7
- Egg x8
- Honey x2
You can obtain flour, eggs, and milk from a merchant in the nearby Small Settlement.
If you don't fancy visiting a Small Settlement, you need to set up a Flour Field and a Mill for Flour. Milk and Eggs would require you to place birds and dairy Pals into your Ranch. Honey is the hardest to obtain as you need to find honeybee-type Pals out in the wild to get it.
How to hatch Palworld Eggs
You need to unlock the Incubator to hatch eggs in Palworld. You can unlock the Incubator using Ancient Technology Points at level 7. This will let you hatch eggs found in the wild and eggs obtained through breeding. Note that certain temperatures are preferred by each type of egg to speed up the hatching process.
