The Memorial Gate in the Cemetery of the Eternals stands between you and the next part of your Path of Exile 2 journey.
As part of Sorrow Among Stones and The Mysterious Shade, you’ll have to track down two key pieces behind some pretty strong bosses to unlock this gate.
This article will walk you through finding the key pieces and taking down the bosses guarding them. Then, you can unlock the Memorial Gate and continue your journey.
How To Open The Memorial Gate In The Cemetery
As soon as you get into the Cemetery of the Eternals, the Memorial Gate is right south of the Waypoint.
While the gate is large and prominent, it will be locked at first.
You’ll need to pick up two key pieces dropped by the bosses in different cemetery dungeons to move on.
Before you can unlock the Memorial Gate, you need to gather Asinia’s Memorial Key Piece and Draven’s Memorial Key Piece.
You can find these key pieces in the Tomb of the Consort and the Mausoleum of the Praetor.
You can easily get to both dungeons from the cemetery area:
Tomb of the Consort
Head northeast from the cemetery's Waypoint to reach the dungeon. The final boss in this dungeon is Asinia, the Praetor's Consort.
She uses a mix of projectiles and AoE attacks, both well-telegraphed, so dodging is no big deal.
During the fight, she also summons Draven (aka the Eternal Praetor), so now you're dealing with two bosses at once.
After taking down Asinia, she'll drop a Key Piece you'll need for the quest.
Mausoleum of the Praetor
This dungeon is just northwest of the Tomb of the Consort, near a checkpoint, where you'll find Draven.
Draven mainly focuses on melee, but he occasionally brings in Asinia to keep the fight interesting.
He relies on powerful melee swings, and when Asinia joins the fray, you'll need to juggle both her AoE attacks and his melee assaults.
Once you take down Draven, the second Key Piece will drop.
After collecting both key pieces, return to the Memorial Gate.
The gate is close to the cemetery's Waypoint, but due to the dynamic map layout, its location can change slightly.
Generally, it will be situated along the edges of the area. Once you reach the gate, interact with it to unlock and open the Memorial Gate.
Once the Memorial Gate is unlocked, proceed deeper into the cemetery.
That's where you'll find Lachlann, the last boss of The Mysterious Shade quest.
Lachlann's fight involves heavy melee swings and summons ghosts that will relentlessly attack you.
On top of that, he uses a ground tremor attack you must avoid, along with some explosive projectiles that pack a punch.
Which boss did you find more challenging, Asinia or Draven?
