How long does it take to beat Pikmin 4?
There are two central times you want to watch out for. You can beat the game in a standard way by going through the story and hitting the credits. This being said, you can also play the game after the credits and get even more story, because things don't wrap up instantly narrative-wise once the credits roll. Here's how long each took for our review:
- Base game (hit the credits once) - 10 hours and 39 minutes
- Full completion (not 100%ing the game, but finishing the post-credits story) - 17 hours and 7 minutes
We'll go over the details of this post-game story below and why it is worth paying attention to.

After you rescue Olimar, you are able to blast off back to their home world. The credits will then roll until you are informed that Oatchi is unable to come with you. He has leafling DNA stopping him from leaving Earth and going back to your home planet.
You then have to come back to Earth, in order to find a scientist who can cure him. This will open up two more worlds, Giant's Hearth and Primordial Thicket, which will then challenge you with one last boss. This will then finish the game off for good.
