Red Pikmin

Red Pikmin are immune to fire and known to be strong in combat. You can get red seeds from across all of the worlds, which can then be used to sprout up more Pikmin.

Yellow Pikmin

As you might expect, the Yellow Pikmin are resistant to electricity, and you can throw them further than other Pikmin. You can find these in the Sun-Speckled Terrace, Blossoming Arcadia, and Primordial Thicket.

Blue Pikmin

These can be used to swim in water and can carry items through water. You can find them in the Blossoming Arcadia, Serene Shores, and Primordial Thicket, picking up blue seeds as with Red and Yellow Pikmin.

Rock Pikmin

Rock Pikmin have the highest HP, can break walls, and have the most powerful attacks. This being said, they are a little slower than most. You can find them in Blossoming Arcadia, Hero's Hideaway, and Giant's Hearth.

Winged Pikmin

The Winged Pikmin can be used to reach objects by flying across gaps that other Pikmin can't get across. You can find them in Serene Shores, Giant's Hearth, and Primordial Thicket.

Ice Pikmin

The Ice Pikmin can be used to freeze bodies of water. You do have to throw lots of Pikmin at the water to get this to work. After this, other Pikmin can walk over the frozen water. They are resistant to ice attacks too. You can find them in caves in Sun-Speckled Terrace, Blossoming Arcadia, Serene Shores, Hero's Hideaway, and Primordial Thicket.

White Pikmin

These are a much quicker Pikmin and can even hit much quicker than others. They are resistant to poison. You can get them by opening Candypop Buds, which are only found in underground caves across worlds.

Purple Pikmin

These are one of the strongest Pikmin and can carry the weight of ten standard Pikmin. You can find them in caves in Serene Shores, Hero's Hideaway, Giant's Hearth, and Primordial Thicket.

Glow Pikmin

Glow Pikmin can light up dimly lit areas, which is great for caves and enemies who hide in shadows. However, they can only be found by harvesting the Glow Seeds found when defending the Lumiknoll in night levels.
