PlayStation Plus Will Stay The Same Price For PS5 Launch

Good news, PlayStation Plus subscribers - Sony has to give 60 days notice of any pricing increases.

That means the PS5 launch won't see any price hikes for the service, as per a new Terms of Service update.

These changes are "amendments to limit [PlayStation's] right to change the price of subscription fees to specific circumstances and on providing a minimum of 60 days’ notice."

You can look up the entire set of terms here.

Previously, Sony could raise or lower prices without providing a notice period at all, making this a nice consumer-friendly change.

The best thing about this is that it means that the PlayStation Plus collection will be an added bonus to the existing online multiplayer requirement, rather than an added extra.

As a reminder, this new addition will let PS5 owners that subscribe to Plus play the following games by downloading them at no extra cost:

  • God of War
  • Last of Us Remastered
  • Uncharted 4: Thief's End
  • InFamous: Second Son
  • The Last Guardian
  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Fallout 4
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Battlefield 1
  • Until Dawn
  • Persona 5
  • Bloodborne
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Resident Evil 7

We don't yet know if PS5 titles will be given away free each month, but given that the PS4's PlayStation Plus offerings included the excellent Resogun at launch, we have our fingers crossed.
