PS5 just received another firmware update, and as is often the case, the patch notes are lacking in detail.

Still, what we do know is that it also includes an update for the Dualsense controller, too.

PlayStation 5 System Update 20.02-02.30.00 Patch Notes

Here are the patch notes, as per PlayStation.com:

  • This system software update improves system performance
  • Resolved an issue where data transfers and downloads were cancelled when trying to download content while a data transfer from a PS4 is in progress.
  • Some issues that were causing errors during text input in some PS4 games have been resolved.
  • The connection stability has been improved for some Wi-Fi routers.

Here's hoping that first bullet point refers to the system crashing, something that has been a real issue for many (including myself).

As for the Dualsense update, once you've installed this update you'll be prompted to plug in your controller using your USB cable.

Once that's done, the update won't take long.

The entire firmware update weighs in at about 800MB, so it's not the largest.

Not only can you download it from your console, but you can install from a USB stick if you're not connected to the internet, too.
