There aren't many Pokémon that could work as a mascot for the massively popular franchise, so the fact that Eevee fits the criteria says a lot about its popularity. It's no wonder Eevee and its many iconic Eeveelutions are a part of almost every modern Pokémon game, including Pokémon GO.

The hugely popular mobile game allows players to catch Eevees in the wild and even evolve them into each of its unique evolutions (also known as Eeveelutions). Here are all the ways you can get all Eevee evolutions in Pokémon GO.

How to evolve Eevee into each Eeveelution in Pokémon GO

In Pokémon GO there are 2 ways of evolving Eevee into each of its individual Eeveelutions. The first is by simply renaming your Eevee to a specific name, different for each evolution. The second also depends on which Eeveelution you're looking to acquire, but requires a bit of effort.

"But why not use the renaming method every time?" we hear you asking. Well, that's because this trick only works once for each type of evolution. So if you're looking to snag a second Sylveon or Umbreon, you'll need to use the alternate method.

Evolve Eevee by renaming it

If you're looking to evolve Eevee by renaming it, simply feed it 25 Eevee Candies and change its name according to the evolution you want.

  • Flareon (Fire-type): Change Eevee's name to Pyro
  • Vaporeon (Water-type): Change Eevee's name to Rainer
  • Jolteon (Lightning-type): Change Eevee's name to Sparky
  • Leafeon (Leaf-type): Change Eevee's name to Linnea
  • Glaceon (Ice-type): Change Eevee's name to Rea
  • Espeon (Psychic-type): Change Eevee's name to Sakura
  • Umbreon (Dark-type): Change Eevee's name to Tamao
  • Sylveon (Fairy-type): Change Eevee's name to Kira

And it's as easy as that. However, as we mentioned before, this trick only works one time for each Eeveelution. So after using the renaming method once, you'll need to take a more hands-on approach with the alternate methods.

Alternate Eevee Evolution methods

Once you've exhausted the renaming trick, here's how you can evolve Eevee into each of its evolutions again.

  • Flareon (Fire-type): Random (33%)
  • Vaporeon (Water-type): Random (33%)
  • Jolteon (Lightning-type): Random (33%)

There's no surefire alternate way of acquiring any of the above three Eeveelutions. For these, you'll have to evolve Eevee without any special conditions and hope you get the form you're looking for, each of the three featuring a 33% chance.

  • Leafeon (Leaf-type): Drop a Mossy Lure Module at a Poke Stop and evolve your Eevee near it.
  • Glaceon (Ice-type): Drop a Glacial Lure Module at a Poke Stop and evolve your Eevee near it.
  • Espeon (Psychic-type): Walk 10km (6.2 miles) with your Eevee and evolve it in the daytime.
  • Umbreon (Dark-type): Walk 10km (6.2 miles) with your Eevee and evolve it at nighttime.
  • Sylveon (Fairy-type): Make Eevee your best buddy by earning 70 hearts with it.
