How to get Mega Pinsir in Pokemon Go
Mega Pinsir can only be obtained by Mega Evolving one of your Pinsirs. Mega Evolutions are temporary, so they cannot be encountered and caught out in the wild.
To Mega Evolve a Pinsir, you will need to defeat Mega Pinsir in raids to collect Mega Energy. You’ll need to spend 200 Mega Energy to unlock a Pokemon’s Mega Evolution.
It’s also possible to acquire Mega Energy from Field Research tasks during certain events. The Pokemon Go Bug Out 2024 event from April 12 to April 17 will feature Mega Energy for Pinsir, Beedrill, and Scizor.
Can Mega Pinsir be shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Mega Pinsir can be shiny in Pokemon Go. To get one, all you need to do is Mega Evolve a shiny Pinsir. Shiny Pinsir has been in the game since late 2018.
Normal Pinsirs are typically brown while shiny ones are blue. This also applies to the Mega Evolved version of the Bug-type Pokemon. Its horns, claws, teeth, and wings remain the same colour.
