How does the Remote Raid Pass work in Pokémon GO?

Many players residing in remote areas find it challenging to participate in Raids, especially when the nearest gym is miles away. With the help of Remote Raid Passes, a host player can invite up to five players from anywhere in the world, and fight Pokémon together.

Diverging from the routine free Raid Passes provided daily, the Remote Raid Pass is exclusively available for purchase to Pokémon GO players at level 32 or above. Individually, they cost 195 Poke Coins, but you can also buy a set of three for 525 Poke Coins.

Alternatively, you can obtain a Remote Raid Pass by purchasing the Remote Raid Box for 315 Poke Coins. These boxes, often listed under "Limited Time Only!" in the Shop, contain 2 Remote Raid Passes and 5 Hyper Potions.

To buy these items from the shop, you'll need to tap the Poke Ball icon on the main screen and select Shop. The Remote Raid Box is available in the "Limited Time Only!" tab, while the Remote Raid Passes can be found under the Items category.

Here's how you can use a Remote Raid Pass to invite your friends:

  1. Tap the bar displaying three nearby Pokémon beneath the Binoculars icon on the main screen.
  2. Navigate to the Raid tab.
  3. Select any Ongoing Raid and initiate the battle by using a Remote Raid Pass. As the host, you will need to be near the gym where the Raid is happening.
  4. To invite players, select the "Plus players" option. Note that you can invite up to five players, and every participant needs to be at least Level 32 and possess a Remote Raid Pass.
  5. Your friends need to accept the invitation, and you begin battling Pokémon.

If everyone faints in the squad, players can retry the battle without using another raid pass.
