One of the next BIG events in Pokemon GO is the Sinnoh Throwback Challenge 2020!
Trainers will engage in lengthy special research quest line celebrating the iconic moments from Johto. The Throwback Challenge has seen Kanto kick things off with Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh regions at a later date.

Throwback Challenge Celebration Ticket - 20th May
In just a couple days, the Throwback Challenge 2020: Sinnoh Timed Research will begin, bringing you one step closer to accessing the Throwback Challenge Champion 2020 Special Research.
If you missed any of the previous challenges, have no fear, because you can purchase a ticket in the shop that will grant you extra bonuses.
Completing the challenges or buying the ticket will net you these rewards:
- Encounters with Galarian Meowth and Galarian Stunfisk! This will be their first appearance in Pokémon GO.
- Research tasks that lead to encounters with Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region, such as Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Blitzle, Audino, Darumaka, Gothita, and Genesect.
- A chance to earn exciting rewards, including Professor Willow’s glasses as an exclusive avatar item!
The ticket will cost $7.99 and won't be able to be purchased with Pokecoins.
Tickets go live Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 1:00 p.m and will last until Monday, June 8, 2020, at 1:00 p.m.
Special Quest Update - 18th May
It seems that a reward is being changed from the Special Quest Update according to Data Miners.
According to the files, you were going to catch a Patrat and now will be receiving a Darumaka.

Sinnoh Throwback Challenge 2020 Dates And Schedule
The official announcement for the challenge has now gone live and the dates have been confirmed for the 22nd May until the 29th May.

Sinnoh Bonuses
You can look forward to the following features and bonuses.
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, such as Pikachu, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Cherubi, Croagunk, Glameow, Snover, Kricketot, Buneary and Cherrim, will be appearing more frequently in the wild.
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will also be available to battle in raids.
- The following Pokémon will be hatching from 7 km Eggs: Cranidos, Shieldon, Glameow, Chingling, Bonsly, Happiny, Gible, Munchlax, Riolu, and Mantyke.
- Pikachu wearing Lucario hats will be appearing in the wild!
- If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Glameow!
- Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will reward encounters with Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region.
- One-hour Star Piece duration, one-hour Incense duration, and one-hour Lucky Egg duration bonuses will be active.
- Shiny Glameow and Purugly will be available during this event.
