Pokemon GO Weather Week Forecasts Increased Chances of Water, Flying Pokemon

Pokemon GO has a new event in store that will affect which Pokemon you're likely to find and hatch: weather week.

The first Pokemon GO weather week runs from March 24 at 10 a.m. local time through March 29 at 8 p.m. local time.

During the weather week event, Pokemon who normally appear only in certain weather types have a boosted chance of appearing.

The first weather week focuses on rainy and windy weather, so expect to see plenty of Water-type Pokemon, including Castform (Rainy), and one very stormy Legendary during five-star Raids.

Weather weeks won’t stop on March 29.

However, while Niantic hasn’t yet said what the next weather week will focus on, we’re hoping it’s snow related.

Nothing beats catching Ice Pokemon without us having to freeze our toes off in the process.

Pokemon GO Weather Week Forecasts Increased Chances of Water, Flying Pokemon

Event-themed research tasks reward players with a chance of encountering Rainy Castform, which could be Shiny.

The event is split between rain and wind.

From March 24-27, Water Pokemon such as Vaporeon and Stunfisk have a greater chance of appearing.

From March 27 through March 29, you’re more likely to find Flying Pokemon, including Pidove and Skarmory

Water and wind-related Pokemon will hatch more frequently from 5km Eggs, including:

  • Poliwag
  • Drifloon
  • Ducklett
  • Tympole
  • Psyduck
  • Mantyke
  • Swablu

One-Star Raids feature Slowpoke and Tynamo, among others, while three-star Raids include Swellow and Pelipper.

Five-Star Raids have Therian Forme Thundurus as their prize, so bring your best teams and be prepared for a tough fight.

Therian Forme Tornadus will enter five-star Raids after the weather week ends.
