Bulbasaur Guide
The Generation 1 Grass-Poison-type is available as the player of partner through the main game.
Usually, Bulbasaur is chosen if the personality results are either Docile (for males) or Calm (for females) in nature.
Unless given an item that enhances mobility, Bulbasaur cannot walk on water, fire or cloud tiles and cannot walk through wall tiles.
Bulbasaur is a grass type, which means it is weak to fire, ice and flying types, so you should pair it with fire, water or electric types such as Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Psyduck, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Torchic or Mudkip.
How To Get Bulbasaur
Bulbasaur can be chosen at the start of the game as either the player or partner.
can be recruited in the first few levels of Joyous Tower.

- 5th floor (19.05%)
Evolving Bulbasaur
Evolution does not play a massive part in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, so it is perfectly ok to keep Bulbasaur as he is.
Although stats do not increase from evolution, moves can vary. Once it evolves into Venusaur, it can learn moves such as Frenzy Plant.
If you do wish to evolve Bulbasaur, you will need to finish the main story and enter the Luminous Cave - be sure to check our evolution guide for more details.
