The Isle of Armor is now live for Pokemon Sword and Shield, and it is set to release in the coming weeks!
Special Pokemon evolutions have always been a large component of the game, dating all the way back to generation one, not all Pokemon simply evolve by levelling up.
One of these Pokemon is Rockruff, introduced back during generation seven, this Pokemon's final form varies from game to game.
Let's take a look at what form and how to evolve Rockruff in the Isle of Armor!
LVL Up!
Like most of the Pokemon throughout the years, Rockruff can be evolved into Lycanroc at LVL 25.
Although this may seem simple enough, there are actually three separate forms that Rockruff will evolve in, and they all depend on the time of day you evolve Rockruff.
Forms
According to Lycanroc's entry into Bulbapedia.com, there are certain times of the day where each form is going to be accessible if you are trying to evolve Rockruff. Check out the criteria for each form below!
- "In Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun, Rockruff evolves into Midday Form Lycanroc when leveled up in the day.
- In Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon, Rockruff evolves into Midnight Form Lycanroc when leveled up at night.
- In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, a Rockruff with Own Tempo evolves into Dusk Form Lycanroc from 5 pm to 5:59 pm in in-game time (which is opposite the real time in Pokémon Ultra Moon)."
So, there are an ample amount of ways that you can evolve Rockruff into Lycanroc, and it is up to you what form you end up choosing!
Isle of Armor?
As of now, we do not believe the method into evolving Rockruff is going to change for the Isle of Armor. However, they may add a new Lycanroc form, to go hand-in-hand with the new location we are visiting!
Keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks for all Pokemon news leading up to the release of the DLC pack!
