Pokemon Sword and Shield: NEW Gigantamax Pokemon and MORE Revealed

Pokemon Sword And Shield news is starting to drop as we grow closer to the release date. Incorporating a colourful Pokedex, with new monsters, Gyms are starting to get some changes to the way they operate as well as the number, as it has greatly been increased according to Game Informer; meaning your Pokemon Sword and Shield starters may change.

Nintendo recently annoucned some new details ahead of the November 15th release date. So what did we learn?

New Gigantamax Forms

Gigantamaxing is only specific to certain species of Pokemon throughout the Galar region but some fans are not pleased with this feature as from the picture above it seems the chosen Pokemon may become super overpowered to battle against or with.

We do know that when a Pokemon is Gigantaxmaxing they will immediately access a special move called the “G-Max Move” and will be different for each Pokemon that can unlock this ability.  

Announced in the showcase trailer was multiple Pokemon getting these forms and we also know how to unlock them.

  • Gigantamax Pikachu is obtained when you have save data for Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu
  • Gigantamax Eevee is obtained when you have save data for Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee
  • A Meowth capable of Gigantamaxing is available from launch until January 15th 2020 as a special early bonus gift
  • Gigantamax Charizard's G-Max move is G-Max Wildfire which sets up a Fire Spin in addition to doing major damage
  • Gigantamax Butterfree's G-Max Move is G-Max Befuddle does damage and can either Poison or Paraylze the opponent or put it to sleep
