Pokémon Go is back with another exciting event of the month. The Scattered to the Winds event will begin on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM, and will run until Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time.
With plenty of bonuses, new shiny debuts, and some interesting challenges, this event is one you won’t want to miss. So, without a delay, let us get into the details.
Pokémon Go: Scattered to the Winds schedule and bonuses
Event Bonuses
If you’re into collecting XP and spinning PokéStops, then this event is perfect for you.
During this event, you'll earn double XP every time you spin a PokéStop. If it’s the first spin of the day, you get an even bigger reward, five times the usual XP.
In addition to XP bonuses, trainers can open up to 40 Gifts per day. Also, those who have purchased the Eggs-pedition Access: February ticket will get 60 Gifts per day.
Shiny Debuts and Featured Wild Encounters
One of the most exciting parts of this event is the debut of new Shiny Pokémon. These Pokémon are:
- Shiny Scatterbug
- Spewpa
- Vivillon
All of them are making their first-ever appearances in Pokémon Go! Also, you can increase your chances of encountering a Shiny Scatterbug by pinning postcards from different regions around the world.
Now, for the Wild Encounters, most will be Flying and Bug-type Pokémon.
- Caterpie
- Starly
- Wurmple
- Spearow
- Pidgey (These come with an increased chance to be Shiny)
Field Research and Paid-Timed Research
Field Research tasks are small challenges that you pick up at PokéStops. When you complete one of these tasks then you might receive rewards like items, Rare Candy, or even special encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Like most events, "Scattered to the Winds" will also come with event-themed Field Research tasks.
For those looking for an extra challenge, there will also be a Paid Timed Research available for $5.00 USD or the equivalent in your local currency. This research will include:
- 16,500 Stardust
- 3 Rare Candy
- An exclusive event-themed avatar pose
- Additional encounters with event-themed Pokémon
But keep in mind that Timed Research must be completed before the event ends on February 20 at 8:00 PM local time, so don't wait too long to finish it.
Lucky Exchanges
The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon per trainer has increased from 25 to 35. Even better, if you trade a Pokémon that has been in your storage since 2019 then it is guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokémon.
PokéStop Showcases
Lastly, keep an eye out for PokéStop Showcases. These showcases will allow you to enter event-themed Pokémon and compete with others for various rewards.
