Preliminary CWL ruleset and Official Groups announced

Ahead of the inaugural Call of Duty World League Qualifier, the official CWL Groups have been announced, in addition to a preliminary ruleset.

Activision have revealed all eight CWL groups across the tournaments three regions, North America (4), Europe (2) and Australia/New Zealand (2).

Treyarch’s Studio Design Director, David Vonderhaar, also took to the competitive Call of Duty subreddit to reveal a preliminary CWL ruleset, after several influential members and professional players within the competitive Call of Duty community questioned the lack of an announcement.

The rules, which Vonderhaar states are “completely unofficial”, can be found below:

Capture The Flag

IMPORTANT NOTE: The game currently has a bug that will be fixed in a future patch. The CTF “Win Rule” setting is backwards. “Round Wins” is pointing to the “Total Flag Captures” string and description, and vice versa. To play with {Total Flag Captures} as the functioning Win condition, Go to [Setup Game] -> [Edit Game Rules] and set {Win Rule} to {Round Wins}. Make sure to also go to [Capture The Flag Advanced] and set {Capture Limit} to {Unlimited}.
