Rumor: The PS5’s DualSense shows which player you are

The PS5 DualSense controller is rumoured to include four LED lights that denote which number of player you are.

We already know that the controller changes colour depending on what player you are, but this latest leak — which, as is the nature with most leaks, is unconfirmed, would certainly be an intuitive function.

According to PushSquare, who published the rumour, if you’re, say, player two, then two LED lights on the coloured strip will light up. If you’re player three, then — well, you get the idea.

The feature was spotted on Twitter before being picked up by a handful of games outlets.

Elsewhere, the PS5 is rumoured to have 664 GB of usable storage — 138 fewer gigs than the one-terabyte Series X, which will offer 802 GB of usable space.

Expect that space to fill up pretty quickly, with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales taking up 50 GB of space, or 105 GB for the Ultimate Edition, which includes a remastered version of the 2018 Spidey game.

Demon’s Souls, another PS5 launch title, will weigh in at 66 GB. The PS3 original weighed in at around 8 GB.

A word of caution. The leak, courtesy of ResetEra, in no way confirms anything and is merely a rumour.

The images, which claim to show the UI, are hazy and could well be doctored. Sony is yet to officially reveal the console’s interface.

Still, as we’ve seen with Modern Warfare — which demands a whopping 250 GB of space in its latest update — issues around space are a sensitive subject.
