PS5: Sony Quietly Files Trademarks For Five New Consoles

The PS5 isn’t even out yet but already Sony has filed trademarks for PS6, PS7, PS8, PS9 and PS10, as reported by IGN.

While we can’t read too much into this, it does suggest that we will see a ton more PlayStations in the future… even though we could be long gone by the time the PS10 comes out. GTA 20 and Final Fantasy 94, anyone?

PlayStation Consoles Trademarked Up To PS10

Don’t read too much into this, though. Trademarking is common practice to ensure there are no issues later down the line.

We’re now just weeks away from the PS5 launch, which is set to roll out in the US and Japan on November 12, and the rest of Europe on November 19.

While many people will be gunning for a PS5 at launch, there have been some concerns about the limited launch line up – although there are some crackers in there.

With Spider-Man: Miles Morales available at launch, we're sure to pick one up.

Then there are titles like God of War: Ragnarok and Final Fantasy 16 that are due in the coming years, suggesting Sony will maintain its excellent track record of console exclusives all the way up to a potential PS10.

It could be a big week for PS5 news, as Sony partners with Burger King of all places to reveal the console's UI. Find out more here.

We've also heard that the PS5 will run all of PS4's games, except for a minuscule list.
