PUBG is introducing a progression system for their weapons, that we have seen in other popular shooters such as Call of Duty. The system is being implemented to give players a sense of reward for using a specific weapon more than others.
- Weapon Mastery is a new progression system where players can increase levels by gaining weapon XP based on players’ weapon use.
- It operates all the time without being affected by seasons.
- Weapon Mastery offers 100 levels for players to achieve per weapon.
Of course, where there's a progression system, there's rewards. PUBG has detailed three versions of rewards players can earn throughout their weapon progression: charms, medals and emblems.

Medals
- Medals highlight awesome accomplishments players perform with their weapons.
- Each medal can be earned multiple times. There is even a counter that tracks how many medals have been achieved.
Tier Emblems
- Players can earn emblems equivalent to their level brackets achieved per each weapon.
- Up to 10 tiers can be achieved
Players can earn weapon progression by virtually doing any damage with their gun, but be warned friendly fire does not count!

Auto Equip Attachments
Since PUBG is a Battle Royale that relies on weapon attachments to further your weapons strength, it seems essential to have auto equip attachments.
PUBG has finally added this game mode to console players, with three options available: Auto Equip Attachments, Auto Equip Scope, and Auto Replace Attachments. The most important notes of this added configuration are:
Auto Equip Attachments:
- An attachment will be automatically equipped on an active weapon upon pick up, if equipable
- If unequipable, the attachment will be equipped to the next available weapon (Primary 1 → Primary 2 → Sidearm order)
Auto Equip Scope:
- Scope type attachments are given three different settings to reduce unexpected situations during combat
