According to new reports, The Initiative’s Perfect Dark reboot has faced some major staffing this last year. Speaking to VGC, numerous staff members described this wave of exits as “fast and furious,” this analysis revealed "half of the core development team" has left the project.

Perfect Dark Developer Faces Major Staffing Issues, New Reports Claim
While things don’t look too good for the Perfect Dark reboot, it’s not all doom and gloom. It appears Crystal Dynamics are taking on a more leading role. However, in hindsight, this could've been a response to staffing issues.
Speaking with VGC, The Initiative gave the following statement:
“It’s no small task to build a studio and reinvent a beloved franchise. In creating The Initiative, we set out to leverage co-development partnerships to achieve our ambitions, and we’re really excited about all the progress we’re seeing with our relationship with Crystal Dynamics.
“In this journey, it’s not uncommon for there to be staffing changes, especially during a time of global upheaval over the last two years, and there’s plenty more work in front of us to deliver a fantastic Perfect Dark experience to our players. We wish all our former colleagues the very best, and I’m confident in the team we have in place, the new talent joining, and we can’t wait to share more with the fans.”
Perfect Dark's reboot is believed to launch in 2023, so time will tell if they come to fruition. We’ll keep you all updated on the future of Perfect Dark.
