Genshin Impact 2.7: How to Get Red Dye

The long-awaited Genshin Impact 2.7 update brought many things to the table. Though most of what's included in the updates is announced ahead of time, the tiny little intricacies of how to start them can get lost in the rabble. If you're stuck in a particular World Quest, here's how to find Red Dye in Genshin Impact and use it to progress that little bit further.

Red Dye has become a hot topic since the 2.7 update released at the tail-end of May. It's been around for a while, but it's an inconsequential item if you're not one for dabbling in the game's niche decorating feature. Still, you're going to need it if you're to work through a certain new World Quest, so we're here to help.

How to Get Red Dye in Genshin Impact

If you've been putting off the little side activity, we're sad to confirm that you're going to have to put your Senenitea Pot differences behind you now. After going away for a while, it's back: and Hoyoverse clearly wants everyone to know what it's about.

To get the illustrious Genshin Impact Red Dye for patch 2.7, you're going to have to dive straight into that mystical vessel. If you haven't unlocked it yet, see the section below first.

If you have, though, activate your Serenitea Pot and mosey on over to Tubby's crafting menu to get started.

To make one Red Dye, you'll need either a Sunsettia, Carrot, or Valberry. We'll detail a few of their drop locations below, but if you happen to have one on hand already, you'll be able to craft Red Dye and be on your way.

You can find carrots to make the Genshin Impact Red Dye easily in Liyue Harbor.

Where to Get Sunsettia, Carrot, and Valberry - Genshin Impact Red Dye Crafting Materials

  • Sunsettia
    • Trees in the southern peak of Mondstadt
    • Wanyou Boutique - Liyue Harbour
    • Bolai - Liyue Harbour
  • Valberry
    • Northeastern area of Mondstadt before the Hypostasis
    • Chloris - Take the central path out of Mondstadt city for a while
  • Carrot
    • Found all over Teyvat in patches and vegetable boxes
    • Wanmin Restaurant - Liyue Harbour

Each of the three materials you can use to craft Red Dye in Genshin Impact can be found without much trouble at all. If you don't already have at least one of them, you can buy both Carrots and Sensettia in Liyue Harbour.

For a Valberry, your best bet is wandering up to the Anemo Hypostasis boss in Mondstadt. You'll find plenty around that area.

How To Unlock the Serenitea Pot in Genshin Impact

  • Hit level 35 Adventure Rank or higher
  • Archon Quest Chapter 1: Act 3 – A New Star Approaches
  • Then complete A Teapot to Call Home

To unlock the Serenitea Pot needed to get Red Dye in Genshin Impact, you need to have progressed through to a certain point in the Liyue arc of the main story. You'll know when you've cleared it because you'll know exactly what the Serenitea Pot is: a magical artifact held by Madame Ping by the city's lotus garden.

Once you've cleared that particular quest, you should be able to go back to her to pick up another: A Teapot to Call Home: Part 1. You'll need some Shimmersoil and Glaze Lilies to get the job done. She'll even mention a material that used to be exclusive to The Chasm: a place you couldn't even get to when the Teapot was first released.

It's a long quest, but a straightforward one that barely goes beyond a social visit all around Liyue Harbor. Once you've cleared the quest and unlocked the Serenitea Pot, it's time to get crafting Red Dye. See above for that.
