The purple dot on your map whenever you visit Ward 13 can be infuriating, and the puzzle might seem difficult to solve. However, figuring out the code for Ford's chest in Remnant 2 is surprisingly simple.
Similar to Remnant: From the Ashes, you can also solve this puzzle to gain access to one of the most powerful weapons in the early game. What is the code for Ford's chest?
You might run into this chest and think you will find the code in one of the books lying around or talking to the NPCs. We assumed you'd meet Ford later in the game, and that's when he gives you the code. However, the answer is actually right under our noses. Remember the flashlight Ford gives you during the tutorial? Flip it around and look under it after inspecting it.
You'll see the pin scribbled right under it. For us, it was 0415, but yours might be different due to RNG.
Now you must enter the 4-digit code and open the chest to get the cargo container key. There's still one more step to go before you get your reward.
How to get SMG in Remnant 2
Head over to the crystal and Ward 13 and walk towards Dwell the Relic Merchant. You'll notice a path going backwards from where you came from through the tutorial section.
Follow this path till you come across a blue door that is locked. You can open this door using the cargo container key.
Unlock the door and head inside to find the submachine gun, the RCP 60, lying on a table.
It's a powerful SMG-style handgun with good DPS and is excellent for dealing with mobs of smaller enemies. This weapon is overpowered in the early game and good enough to get you through most of Remnant 2 till you find an alternative you like even more.
