The topic of skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) is a hotly debated topic within the Call of Duty community. Some players prefer competitive lobbies while some want a more casual experience with a mixture of skill levels.
Amid rumours of Modern Warfare II featuring paid DLC to support a two-year cycle, new leaks are suggesting significant changes to SBMM are also in the works.
The possibility of SBMM receiving changes is music to the ears of some players who believe the feature should only appear in ranked playlists rather than the casual modes.
Modern Warfare II SBMM
Information from notable leaker 'RalphsValve' reveals Infinity Ward is looking at "revising" the current SBMM formula for the upcoming release in a bid to balance matchmaking.
While the difficulty of matches may change, the leaker has revealed that lobby disbanding following the end of a match will remain for Modern Warfare II, much to the annoyance of those that want to join forces with others they meet.
SBMM continues to be a talking point for Call of Duty players. Despite the best efforts of developers, the debate is set to continue as attention turns to the sequel of the hugely successful Modern Warfare reboot that launched in 2019.
Will Modern Warfare II Have SBMM?
While nothing official is confirmed, it's highly likely SBMM will remain in Modern Warfare II even if Infinity Ward has tweaked it to improve the experience for casual players.
As always, leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt but it will be interesting to see how the feature works once the game launches.
