While Sea of Thieves will be the last of the four Xbox games to make its debut on PlayStation, sadly, there's no confirmed PS4 release in sight. Despite its initial launch on Xbox One, Microsoft has only announced a PS5 version for now.

Although Sea of Thieves could technically run on the PS4 and PS4 Pro, Microsoft might not deem it worthwhile to port the game to an older console. The costs involved in development and support could outweigh the benefits, especially considering the age of the PS4.

However, with the PS5 version currently garnering success through pre-orders, things are looking pretty good for Sea of Thieves on the PlayStation. And if there's a clamour from players on last-gen consoles, Microsoft might reconsider its stance.

Once the game releases on April 30, we'll have a clearer idea of whether the game will be coming to PS4, or if it's permanently unavailable for that platform. Until then, maybe consider getting a PS5 and pre-ordering the game to play the new version when it releases.
