Season 2 for Vanguard is right around the corner and while players patiently wait for the first major content drop of 2022, Sledgehammer Games is continuing to unveil the new additions arriving in the update.
In addition to the arrival of Anna as a new Operator and two brand-new multiplayer maps, the developer has revealed a wealth of bug fixes and improvements to various areas of the game.
Fixes ranging from camo challenge tracking to random doses of packet burst all feature in the Season 2 patch notes. Find all of the confirmed changes in this article.

- Addressed an exploit that would reveal the enemy team’s bomb location.

- Decreased ADS time from 498ms to 400ms (-20%).
- Decreased weapon sway while walking by 80%.
3-Line Rifle
- Decreased weapon sway while walking by 50%.
- Decreased flinch intensity by 50%.
- Decreased max damage range from 40m to 15m (-63%).
Kar98k
- Decreased ADS time from 595ms to 500ms (-16%).
ATTACHMENTS
Shirashi Short Barrel (Type 99)
- Decreased ADS time multiplier from -10% to -5% (-50%).
BUG FIXES
Barracks
- Incorrect XP requirement values will no longer be displayed in the Career Progression menu.
- Incorrect Prestige and XP values will no longer be displayed in the Level Progression menu.

- Prestige icons are no longer misaligned in the Level Up menu.

Vanguard March 3 Patch Notes
As March begins, Sledgehammer Games has released a patch addressing a range of multiplayer features alongside a few Zombies fixes.

- Fixed an issue where players would sometimes spawn near enemies in the Patrol mode.

Champion Hill
- Fixed an issue causing a “Lost Connection to Host” error message when attempting to load the Champion Hill - Solo mode in Private Match.

Vanguard Season 2 Patch Notes
Alongside the stability issues, the Season 2 update contains addresses numerous issues that impacted players over the course of Season 1. In addition, game modes such as Control have received adjustments preventing matches from ending early once a spectator disconnects.

MULTIPLAYER UPDATES
Stability
- Made several improvements to player textures and animations that resulted in Packet Burst spikes.
- Stability improvements should result in better connectivity and lower crash rates. The time to connect to Online Services should also be reduced.
- Fixed a bug that resulted in disconnecting during MVP Highlight Animations.
Maps
General
- A thorough pass on map environments has been completed to fix objects with unintended collision, issues with portaling through the ground, and to remove out-of-map exploits.
Champion Hill
- There will no longer be two consecutive buy rounds at the beginning of every Champion Hill Duos 2v2 private match.
- A bug has been resolved that resulted in players losing Perk and Field Upgrade functionality in Private Matches if they played a match in Champion Hill previously.
- Spawn improvements have been made for teams of three.

- Fixed a bug that resulted in matches ending prematurely after a spectator disconnects.
- Late match joiners are now able to spawn in when lives are available.
- Swapping to spectate/different teams now consistently updates the lives left.
- The last player alive warning now consistently appears.

Glide Bomb
- Fixed a bug that resulted in graphical corruption when Attack Dogs were killed by a Glide Bomb.
Mortar Barrage
- Fixed a bug that resulted in the flare and smoke VFX from previously called-in Mortar Barrages temporarily re-appear.
- Deploying the Mortar Barrage will no longer force-switch the player's weapon.
Flamenaut
- Activating the killstreak and getting killed at the same time will now grant you the killstreak.

- Fix a bug with Deployable Cover that resulted in constant screen shake.

- A bug has been fixed that stopped players being unable to select a weapon when editing Prestige weapon classes.

- A bug resulting in Play of the Game not playing or ending early has been fixed.

When Does The Vanguard Season 2 Update Go Live?
Players may have already had the opportunity to pre-load the update ahead of Season 2 starting, allowing them to jump straight into multiplayer and Zombies immediately.
The Season 2 update will go live on February 14 at 5PM GMT, meaning you'll have to wait a little while longer to see the new content that's arrived into the game. It will be interesting to see if players give Vanguard a second chance if the majority of issues have disappeared.
