Although Activision revealed a 50m drop in players over the last 12 months, the popularity of COD Mobile shows no signs of slowing down. With over 650m downloads since its launch, players continue to drop into the game for their fix of multiplayer action. COD Mobile Season 5 2022 Release Date
An exact release date for Season 5 hasn't appeared yet but thanks to the Season 4 Battle Pass, we can make a guess as to when the new season will begin. The Battle Pass comes to an end on June 2 and with the new season kicking off immediately, this is the likely start date for Season 5.
However, a delay could change things. Once we know more details on the release date, we will update the article with the latest information.
COD Mobile Season 5 Maps
A recent teaser from the COD Mobile Twitter account suggests another map from Black Ops Cold War is making its way into the Mobile map pool. On May 15, the account posted a dark image of the temple section of Apocalypse, implying its release isn't far away.
COD Mobile Season 5 Guns and Weapons
As with previous seasons, new weapons will arrive in the arsenal as part of Season 5. Thanks to the test build, we already know some of the guns likely arriving with the update. So far, the Oden assault rifle from Modern Warfare, the KSP 45 from Black Ops Cold War, and the LCAR9 pistol are present.
There's no guarantee all of the guns arrive in Season 5 but it's highly likely at least one makes it into the final update. How will the Oden shake up the current meta?
COD Mobile Season 5 Perk Changes
In addition to new guns appearing in the test build, changes to the Persistence Perk have appeared. Scorestreaks are now divided into three separate tiers with players using the Perk allowed to select ones from low, middle, and high categories.
COD Mobile Echo Grenade
The test build also includes a brand-new piece of Tactical Equipment known as the Echo Grenade. Its description says players can "detect enemy locations" when throwing it, allowing them to spot them for a few seconds before the highlight disappears. A video from Hachwa shows how it works:
