The Shiba Inu AMA event has just concluded, giving SHIB holders information on a variety of upcoming projects on the Shiba Inu roadmap.

Hosted by Watcher Guru, the SHIB event saw Shiba members such as Discord mod Queenie and Shib Informer answer questions in a similar style to the December 2021 Shiba AMA. Shiba game developer William Volk was also in attendance.

Here's a look at everything new we learned during the Ask Me Anything Twitter Spaces event.

Shiba Doggy DAO

Just days before the AMA, the Shiba Doggy DAO launched into Phase 1 - or its beta. This allowed BONE holders to vote on pairs within the ShibaSwap system, with GTF-SHIB currently leading the vote.

Shiba Inu Growth Breed member Archangel gave an explanation as to why the DAO rollout was segmented into phases. He said:

Since this is a beta release and we have an amazing user base, a step-by-step implementation is required so we don't run into any security issues.

We are especially cost cautious as we all watched a DAO experience a hostile takeover a few weeks back, so that's definitely on the minds of everyone.

However, there was no update as to when any future phases of the DAO would launch.

Shiba Inu Burns

As one of the large parts of the Shiba community, the AMA also touched on Shiba Inu Burns.

The major announcement from Shib Informer was that ShibaSwap 2.0 will include a specific burn portal.

Explaining the reasons for supporting burns through specific burn mechanics, he said:

We want to make the burn rate grow with the utilization rate of the platform. So if you think about it, this is kind of the new utility. It's about getting the supply slowly reduced as you use the platform.

However, he also asked people to not ask for 90% burns as this is an impossible option.

Welly's Fast Food Restaurant

After its initial announcement in early February, SHIB holders have been clamouring for additional Welly's franchises around the globe. This is especially after it opened applications for new restaurants.

As a decentralised restaurant set to be powered by the Doggy DAO, Welly's underwent a major rebranding to incorporate SHIB.

Archangel described Welly's as a "dark horse in the ecosystem", stating this could be an entirely new business model as "the first restaurant to run on blockchain technology."

He also added that Welly's will include a burn function once the Shibarium L2 goes live.

Welly's is also developing applications for the metaverse project, alongside an NFT project that will fund franchises. Franchises are expected to start in the first half of 2023, according to the Archangel.

Touching on the disappointment about a lack of McDonald's partnership, he said:

The Shiba ecosystem is going to be the foundation of the restaurant and what its going to be operating on so it's going to be pervasive in every aspect of the restaurant."

Shiba Inu Metaverse

Almost coming out of nowhere, the Shiba Inu metaverse project, previously codenamed Shiberse, was first announced at the end of January. Set to feature virtual real estate in the form of Shiba Lands, anticipation was high for new on the metaverse- particularly around its actual name.

Archangel once again was given the responsibility to inform holders about the metaverse. Described as an "immersive world", the metaverse will incorporate businesses, social clubs, and partnerships.

The metaverse will use and expand the utility of SHIB, LEASH and BONE, alongside the Shiboshi NFTs. "The metaverse is basically the embodiment of the Shiba ecosystem," he said.

At the centre of the metaverse is the Dog Park, he also added.

Archangel also gave further details about the metaverse Lands. There are 99,000 lands in existence, with 35,000 Lands released in Phase One. The rest of the Lands will launch in separate phases, he said.

Of these, there are four categories of Lands, with four different prices, based on map positioning. Land will vary in price from 0.2 ETH to 1 ETH, and are sold through a bidding system. "The closer to the Dog Park, the more expensive they're going to be," Archangel said.

As for how to purchase this virtual real estate, Archangel said there will be a 10-day event for purchasing land during Phase One. "LEASH holders will get first dibs and there will be a dedicated portal for the land purchase, where LEASH holders will lock their leash for a predetermined amount of time," he said.

Archangel also reaffirmed previous comments from SHIB developer Eric M that the land will be paid for using ETH to avoid dumping issues.

Shiba Inu Games

With the expect release dates of the two Shiba Inu games drawing closer, Shiba holders were excited to learn more about both the gameplay and design of these card-based titles.

Queenie announced that the non-blockchain, mobile version of the game developed by PlaySide will release in Q4 2022, or earlier. This is a slight delay on the Q1 FY23 release date given by PlaySide first.

The blockchain game, however, will be centred around the Shiboshi NFTs and any future NFTs, Queenie said. She also said: "The game is going to feature hundreds of cards to collect. The cards will be available for purchase, and they'll also be NFTs.

"It pays homage to past iconic games and it kind of keeps without our meme heritage," she added. Aside from gaming experiences and memes, these cards will also reference the Shiboshi NFTs and Shiba ecosystem.

William Volk, developer of the Shiba Inu games assured listeners it wasn't a clone of other card games, before sharing further details.

"The mobile game will give value to Shiboshi holders," Volk said, although he didn't expand on how this will work.

Volk also said the team is already playing prototypes of the game, reaffirming that development is progressing well.

Shiboshi NFTs

As the primary Shiba Inu NFT collection, excitement has grown among the Shiboshi NFT holders who are seeking to find out more about the Shiboshi NFT role in the ecosystem's future.

For the owners of the Shiboshi NFTs, 2000 holders will be chosen to mint one land within an exclusive Shiboshi Zone - a reserved area for these Shiboshi holders within the metaverse. However, a snapshot of holders has already been taken, meaning new Shiboshi holders will miss out on the Shiboshi Zone.

Shib Informer assured Shiboshi holders that they wouldn't be left behind. "We didn't create just the Shiboshis to to be a nice JPEG," he said. It has to have some utility."
