Getting a friend into the ShibArmy is now easier than ever after GiftChill released actual Shiba Inu (SHIB) gift cards.

With amounts ranging from $500 to $2000, the cryptocurrency gift card company allows users to purchase SHIB in a MetaMask wallet, streamlining the process for first-time holders.

This comes after GiftChill first allowed SHIB holders to pay for other gift cards using the cryptocurrency. One whale even made a $250,000 payment in SHIB.

Shiba Inu Gift Cards

As explained by GiftChill, the Shiba Inu Gift Cards work by sending users a 12-word seed phrase to a MetaMask wallet containing SHIB.

To gain access, all users need to do is select ‘Import Wallet’ on MetaMask and enter the seed phrase. Compared to the more complicated ways of transferring and buying SHIB, this helps simplify the process for new holders.

Indeed, GiftChill sees these gift cards as exactly that. It states:

“This eGift Card makes the perfect gift for the budding crypto investor, or simply a quick and easy way to purchase the popular Shiba Inu token for yourself.”

The SHIB gift cards are available in $500, $800, $1000, and $2000 amounts.

With these amounts, the gift cards could net you anywhere between 14.7m and 59m SHIB at current prices. However, we don’t yet know what percentage GiftChill takes as a fee, or whether the transaction fee is incorporated into the price.

We may have some idea, though. When attempting to purchase a $1000 gift card (reduced to $920) using SHIB, GiftChill indicated this would cost 27223888 SHIB - worth $922.07, according to CoinGecko. The $2000 card, reduced to $1810, would cost 53560041 SHIB - worth $1814.07.

Using Coinbase and NOWPayments, GiftChill is an online gift card provider that takes payments through cryptocurrency. According to its site, “by focusing specifically on crypto transactions, we can keep overhead low.”

This isn’t the first time a cryptocurrency company allowed users to gift crypto, however. In December, Robinhood enabled its users to send the likes of Dogecoin to others. Binance, meanwhile, has a gift card to top up users’ Binance accounts.
