Shiba Inu project lead Shytoshi Kusama teased an idea for a Shiba movie in the future as SHIB begins its expansion into the entertainment sector with its Shiba Inu game.

Posting in the official Shiba Discord on January 20, Shytoshi said he had a movie script that he would love to produce if he had the time.

Even if a movie does not happen, SHIB holders have plenty to look forward to in the future. The SHIB roadmap is already packed full of new projects such as Shibarium and the impending Doggy DAO, for example.

The discussion around a Shiba movie began when SHIB holders asked Shytoshi what fellow developer Eric M’s cryptic image posted on Twitter meant.

One user speculated it could be a video series, only for Shytoshi to dismiss this. A second user followed by asking about Netflix, which Shytoshi responded to by saying:

Netflix is looking like next year at best.

This comes after Shytoshi tweeted at Netflix in October, asking if they could chat.

Of course, this doesn’t mean Netflix got in contact with the Shiba Inu team. It could well be a comment made in jest by the SHIB developer. However, Shytoshi then said:

I have a movie script if I get time to tighten it I'd love to produce it. But not until after the game.

As expected, members of the ShibArmy reacted positively to a proposed film based on SHIB. “I’d like to see a SHIB/Shiboshi Netflix series/book/game that explores a more grim-dark story, that would be fire,” said one user.

This isn't the first piece of cinema-related SHIB news to come out this month. In early January, AMC confirmed that it will accept SHIB by the end of Q1 2022.

Netflix will soon venture into cryptocurrency with its upcoming crime documentary Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King. Set to launch in 2022, it will explore the death of Gerry Cotten, founder of QuadrigaCX, and $250m that went missing from the exchange.
