Shiba Inu project lead Shytoshi Kusama has said that SHIB users should start thinking about what they can bring to the Shibarium Layer-2.

Speaking in the Welly Discord ahead of the Welly NFT mint, Shytoshi touched upon the Layer-2 solution, which the Shiba Inu restaurant plans to run on.

This is what Shytoshi said about how SHIB users can get involved with Shibarium.

Shytoshi Calls For Shibarium Developers

In the Discord server, Shytoshi stressed the importance of decentralisation when it comes to Shibarium, calling on SHIB holders to think about what they could bring.

“Everyone in the ShibArmy should be conceptualising what they will build on Shibarium/the Shiba Inu metaverse,” he said.

“Are you going to be a gamer?” he continued. “Will you design clothes for the next John Richmond x SHIB season?

“What you build will be up to you. What we’ve set in place are the structures.”

While being a call-to-action for SHIB holders, Shytoshi's statement also seemed to be a defence against criticism targeted at Shiba Inu’s support for the Welly restaurant. Welly plans to use Shibarium when it launches.

SHIB holders will have the opportunity to develop and build on Shibarium in the future via the upcoming Shibarium Hackathon. With funding for the best development projects, this hackathon should boost development for the L2.

Shibarium remains the most anticipated project on the Shiba Inu roadmap. It is seemingly responsible for the recent BONE price rise due to BONE’s role as the gas on Shibarium.

There is no set release date for Shibarium. This means holders don’t have a specific date to aim for when it comes to conceptualising these projects.

Indeed, while Shibarium has been said to be coming soon in the past, the narrative around this date appears to have changed. Comments in the SHIB Discord reaffirm that holders should temper their expectations.
