Life in Skyrim can often seem pretty movie-worthy, with epic showdowns, mysterious locations and interesting characters aplenty.

No matter whether your character is more suited to playing the honourable, battle-hardened hero that slays baddies while dropping corny catchphrases or the dashing rogue living on the wrong side of the law, it’s easy to wonder why Hollywood isn’t sending couriers after you to demand your acting services.

Thankfully, a modder has taken it upon themselves to provide any would-be silver screen Skyrim stars or starlets with the means to get a glimpse of just what their film debut could look like.

Ever thought that your exploits in Skyrim were movie-worthy?

The first of these mods is called ‘PRTXII - 80's B MOVIE’ and is the work of prolific modder l00ping, whose previous work has aimed to make Skyrim as photorealistic as possible and helped to overhaul its weather.

Now, though, they’ve decided to create a huge range of different reshade presets that all work to give the game a slightly different atmosphere, with this first one aiming to evoke the retro vibes of classic B movies.

It does this by mimicking the “Kodak 5247 film mainly used for film production during the 80s”, rendering Skyrim’s vistas a little less sharp, but just as breath-taking.

If this isn’t quite old-school enough for your nostalgic tastes, a couple of l00ping’s other presets might be more your style, with ‘PRTXII - 1962’ aiming to make the game resemble movies and photographs created between the 1930s and 1960s and ‘PRTXII - BLACK’ making for a truly unique experience by taking you back to a time before colour.

Thankfully, if you’re of a more youthful persuasion, they also offer ‘PRTXII - BLOCKBUSTER’, which will help you to star in your own modern motion picture by mimicking the latest cinematography techniques employed by today’s flicks.

Then again, if you’re more of an indie horror buff than a mainstream devotee, l00ping’s ‘PRTXII - DARK AGE’ might be worth a look, citing “horror movies, old Tim Burton aesthetics and dark fantasy” as its inspirations.

If any of these have piqued your interest, you should make sure to grab another of l00ping’s mods, ‘PRT XII - PhotoRealistic Tamriel 12.4’ and all of its prerequisites first.
