How To Open the Electric Field Safe
Head to the Garbage region to start, which unlocks as you move ahead in the main story.
You'll find the safe in a two-story building at the southeast corner of the Slag Heap.
The area has electrical glitches, making it easy to spot but risky to get close to.
These anomalies can cause serious damage, so be prepared with bolts. You can toss them ahead to stop the anomalies for a while.
Also, make sure to carry medkits and anti-radiation meds in case of any unexpected harm.
When you reach the building, go through the southern entrance. Then, go inside and take the stairs to the second floor, where the safe is beside a keypad.
The safe itself is locked and requires a four-digit code to access. But you should poke around more to crack this code.
To obtain the code, exit the building and search for a ladder on the northeast side. Climb up to the roof and keep an eye out for any anomalies.
There's a small USB drive resting near an empty bottle on the southern ledge of the roof.
The safe’s location is added to your map when you grab this drive. It also reveals a cryptic clue: “Stick, Cobra, Porthole, Infinity.”
The riddle uses shapes to match up with numbers.
- Stick is
1, looks like a straight line. - Cobra is
7, shaped like a snake’s curve. - Porthole is
0, like a round window. - Infinity is
8, just like the infinity symbol when upright.
The safe code is 1708, based on these clues. Once you have the code, go to the second floor of the building.
Type 1708 into the keypad next to the safe and hit the green button to open it.
The contents of the safe usually include a mix of supplies, though there may be some variation, such as:
- Ammunition
- Medical supplies
- Consumables
- Grenades
The loot might not have anything rare or special, but it helps keep your resources topped off as you move through the zone.
The Electric Field might also house items, like the Chocolate Bar, that give some resistance to electrical anomalies. Use your scanner to search for it in the area.
Even after you grab what's in the safe, there are still some risks around the building, so be careful when leaving.
