The galaxy is a fierce and unforgiving place. So, if you're looking to be the best of the best in Zynga's newest game, you'll want to check out our Star Wars Hunters tier list. The path to becoming a legend in the arena and taking on the win for either Mudhorn or Gundark has just got simpler.
There are 13 characters to collect in Star Wars Hunters, with the newest being Mandalorian warrior Arana Tal. and you'll understandably want the best of the best to help you and your squad dominate the enemy team and earn all the points.
With our Star Wars Hunters tier list, we've sorted each hunter you can unlock and acquire into a tier that we believe best summarizes their capabilities.
Star Wars Hunters Tier List
Each hunter in Star Wars Hunters has a place on your team, and can be the thing that you need to get that clutch win that you brag about to all your friends.
That being said, there are some hunters who are simply better at their job. This is particularly true as each hunter has their own class and belongs to either Damage, Support, or Tank. With this in mind, we've made sure our tier list takes into account which class the hunter belongs to.
Our reasoning behind each tier is, as follows:
- S Tier - Heroes who are absolutely essential to scoring a win in Star Wars Hunters. They're not just good at their roles but exceed expectations.
- A Tier - Heroes are great at their role, and perform well against most, if not all, odds.
- B Tier - Heroes meet the expectations of their role.
- C Tier - Heroes are neither terrible nor great at their role, but can be useful depending on squad composition.
Because there are only 13 overall hunters, and none are terrible at their jobs, we've made our tier list only go to C.
As more characters are added and the game continues to develop, we will make changes and iterations.
Star Wars Hunters Best Tank - Sentinel
Star Wars Hunters Tier List
S
A
You might find this hard to believe, but Sentinel is a Stormtrooper who knows how to hit his targets. And that's not because of aim assist either!
Sentinel is, without a doubt, one of the strongest characters in Star Wars Hunters and definitely stands head and shoulders above the other Tank characters. This is largely due to his ultimate ability, Empire's Finest, which allows him to call in two other Stormtroopers to blast at the enemy squad. With thrice the firepower, he's an enemy to be reckoned with.
Sentinal also has a shield which grants him extra support for his already chunky amount of health. This can be activated and deactivated, while also improving weapon fire.
What's more, Sentinel also has an ability, Barrel Slam, that can get him out of a jam if melee-based enemies get close by slamming them away from him. This is pretty significant, as Sentinel's weakness is that he does poorly against anyone who is able to get close behind him and past his shields.
Star Wars Hunters Best Support - Zaina
Star Wars Hunters Tier List
S
On the complete opposite of the spectrum, the War Hero to Sentinel's War Criminal, is Rebel healer Zaina. During her time with the Rebellion, she learned quickly that sometimes the best offence is defence and brought her knowledge to the arena.
Zaina doesn't have anything to buff her teammates in the same way Sprocket does, but her healing ability is second to none and her passive ability prioritizes healing allies with critical health, making her a mainstay in any squad.
Her ultimate ability, Rallying Cry, gives allies in range a temporary -- but highly significant amount -- health boost. This can easily give an edge in the most heated of moments, and alongside her Bacta Bomb, which releases a ton of healing on detonation, makes her healing output the most reliable out of all the supports.
Star Wars Hunters: Best Damage - Rieve
Star Wars Hunters Tier List
S
A
B
Rieve believes herself to be the star of the show of the Arena, and let's be honest, her character design is so damn cool that she's not exactly wrong.
Yet even outside of her stellar aesthetic, Rieve is a perfect pick for players who want to do the most damage as quickly as possible. Not only is she fast, but her leaps go far and thanks to her passive ability, Vicious Leap, also deals damage to the poor enemy who she just so happens to land in front of.
Rieve's ultimate, Crushing Will, is also something to be aware of. Not only does she use the Force to stun all enemies around her, but she pulls them in too -- quickly finishing them off with a slash of her lightsaber.
However, Rieve isn't all powerful. She is best handled at a distance, particularly by characters with long range weapons. That said, she isn't completely useless, as her Wild Defence ability allows her to block and reflect blaster bolts back at the enemy team.
Star Wars Hunters was soft-launched last year, and its full release is now here, with the game available on both mobile and Nintendo Switch. With that in mind, be aware that this tier list is still a work in progress and will continue to be updated as Zynga continues development and the global launch beckons closer.
