The upcoming Star Wars: KOTOR Remake will no longer be discussed by Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors after every discussion surrounding the title was turned into website news. Whoospie.

A remake of the BioWare classic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the new KOTOR Remake was in development by Aspyr Media. However, the title has since been taken away from the developer.

In the latest earnings call from Embracer Group, Wingefors refused to comment on the state of the KOTOR Remake in order to avoid headlines. (Once again, whoops.)

When asked how the CEO is feeling about the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, the CEO responded: “I notice that anything I say to this becomes a headline, so that is my only comment.”

However, news surrounding the Knights of the Old Republic Remake has been worrisome for fans of the original game. Via our sister site StealthOptional, PlayStation reportedly took issue with the upcoming remake for not being “cinematic” enough compared to the platform’s first-party exclusives.

Furthermore, the removal of the remake from series developer Aspyr Media has caused some concern in the eyes of fans. While Aspyr Media’s ports of the original two games weren’t perfect, many were excited to see what the team could do with a full remake of BioWare’s iconic role-playing game.

Alongside this, the original trailer for the Star Wars: KOTOR Remake has since been removed from official YouTube platforms, leading many to assume the game was cancelled. While this doesn’t appear to be the case — the game is seemingly in development at Saber Interactive — the trailer has yet to be uploaded again by the game’s developers, publishers or partners.

When, or if, the Star Wars: KOTOR Remake officially releases, the game is expected to release exclusively on PlayStation and PC. There’s no news if the exclusivity is a timed release with an Xbox port coming sometime in the future.
