What is a River Jelly?
River Jelly is a pseudo-fish that can be caught with the use of a Fishing Pole during all seasons in rivers. The River Jelly is included in one of the four fishing achievements and can be found in the Fish part of the collection tab. However, it cannot be sold to Willy at the Fish Shop because it is not regarded as a fish in any other context.
River Jelly uses
River Jelly can be consumed for Health, sold for gold, or used to craft a Fish Smoker.
- If consumed, the Jelly restores 75 energy, and 33 health and grants the player a 7-hour long plus 30 max energy bonus.
- You can sell it for 125 G through your bin, but not to Willy.
- Lastly, it's a component in the Fish Smoker, which lets you smoke Fish and double their value.
How to get River Jelly
The only possible way to obtain River Jellies in Stardew Valley is via fishing at River locations in Pelican Town. So grab your fishing pole and head to Willy for some top-notch bait. We suggest going with Deluxe Bait and the Dressed Spinner Tackle.
River Jelly can be found in any sweetwater in Pelican Town and it’s readily available during every season. Every level of your Luck bonus increases your odds of finding a River Jelly and they're a lot easier to find in spots with bubbling water and populations of at least 7.
Remember that River Jellies are hard to come by, so it may take some time for them to show up.
It is advised that you fish the Sea Jelly first to receive the + one fishing bonus before moving on to the other kinds of jellies, as it makes the whole experience much more fun.
