Starfield is a sci-fi RPG set in the distant future. Society was able to develop new technology and start exploring space. Now, at a distance of tens of lightyears, people have various colonies and can explore new planets and systems. You have to become one of these explorers and visit many different locations, including cities. Therefore, this guide will tell you about the full list of Starfield cities so far.
And while you are here, make sure to check the kind of Starfield mods you can expect when the game lands. We've also got a look at the Starfield character creation system, as well as how multiplayer may work in the game. With that said, you can find these and everything else related to the game in one convenient location - our Starfield hub!
All main Starfield cities
At the moment, we know that there will be four main cities in Starfield. Each of them differs in style, design, inhabitants, and, of course, the factions that have bases there. As in previous Bethesda titles, these cities will be the main places where you can take new quests and interact with various NPCs. So far, we know about the following:
- Cydonia
- Neon
- Akila
- New Atlantis
Akila City
Akila City is a free city surrounded by high walls protecting the inhabitants from Ashta. These are creatures that live on the planet where Akila City is located. Also, the city is home to one of the largest factions in the game called the Freestar Collective. As such, we expect you'll spend a lot of time there.
New Atlantis
New Atlantis is one of the largest cities in the game. In it, you can meet a wide variety of people and creatures. Despite the apparent freedom, the city is very militarised, with soldiers everywhere. Therefore, you must be careful while you're there, to avoid a gunfight.
Neon
Neon is the last known Starfield city. As the name implies, the city has a lot of neon, but there are also exhaust gas, drugs, and other dubious pleasures. Also, Neon city is home to Xenofresh Corporation. It reminds us of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077, and is sure to be filled with seedy characters to encounter.
Cydonia
Cydonia is a city based on our solar system, specifically on Mars. We already know something has happened on Earth that's resulted in a huge exodus of people moving to another planet. Will Shen, Bethesda's lead quest designer has shared more about the planet in the video below:
That's all we know so far about the cities in Starfield. Everyone wants to explore them just like we do. Therefore, we are looking forward to news, updates, and easter eggs that may come up in the following days. As soon as we know more about these cities, or any new ones, we'll update this guide.
