Breakdown
- Stellar Blade's flesh suit actually makes the game harder
- The flesh suit removes Eve's shields, making her take more damage
- Players that want to perv out will need gameplay skills to back it up
Ever since the demo of Stellar Blade was temporarily leaked, fans haven’t been able to stop gawking at Eve’s flesh suit, for obvious reasons. However, it turns out fans aren’t the only ones feeling things, as the game will get harder if you decide to play in this outfit.
No. Not like that.
While most gamers are checking out her butt physics in this outfit, YouTuber GamersPrey (via Automaton-Media) has revealed that the “flesh suit” makes Eve more vulnerable. The suit’s description says that Eve’s shields are down when you wear this “suit,” meaning that players will take much more damage.
Yes, that type of harder.
It’s a fairly fun way to handle the difficulty in Stellar Blade, as the devs know that most fans will be picking this up for less than noble reasons. Developer Shift Up should be commended for making fans work harder to get harder. Anyone who just wants to be a perv while playing this game will have to be pretty competent while playing and we respect that.
To be fair, even with all of the fanservice Shift Up is giving players, every trailer revealed thus far shows that this looks like an actual fun game. The combat looks good, the visuals are great, and Eve…is a very attractive woman who might be an interesting character. Only time will tell if this ends up being cheeky (pun intended) like Bayonetta or tricks you with sexiness like Nier Automata.
On paper, Stellar Blade could easily be a game that relies on its sex appeal, much like a lot of the trash titles that came out in the PS3 and Xbox 360 era. However, everything we’ve seen looks pretty promising thus far, and turning the horniness of gamers into an in-game disadvantage is a phenomenal move.
Stellar Blade will be coming out on PlayStation 5 sometime on April 26. There’s hope that the game is coming to PC for, well, the mods.
